September 22 2005:
Pleasant weather returned from last Sunday on with plenty of sunshine and dry conditions. Nights were rather chilly, highs were about 21 degrees. September will most likely end in the top 5 of most sunny September months in the Netherlands ever.
In two days I will be travelling to Norway, so no more updates for a while.
September 17 2005:
Summer is over. We had some rainy days at the end of the week and last night the first ground frost of the season was recorded at airbase Twenthe. Also, high temperatures are 2-3 degrees below normal.
Tonight ground frost will likely be more widespread.

September 13 2005:
The average temperature of the first 10 September days was the warmest since at least 1901! Summer at last, as De Bilt recorded 7 days in a row with highs above 25°C (also a new September record).
On Friday an active thunderstorm formed over the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. I witnessed frequent sheet lightning from work. Saturday night I was awoken by very loud thunder from a passing thunderstorm. CG's were very frequent, but at 04.30 LT I was too tired to get and out and shoot photos. In the province of Brabant flash floods occured.
During Saturday afternoon more heavy thunderstorms formed near Rotterdam. In Zwijndrecht about 100 mm was recorded, resulting in flash floods. Sunday night storms passed my location again. Between 02.45 en 03.15 lightning intensity was enormous, nearly 60 discharges/minute. It was just sheet lightning though, with constant rumbling.
Atmosphere stabilised from yesterday on. With clear skies night temperatures were nearly 10 degrees lower at some locations, Twente recorded 6 degrees. There is good chance of aurora these days, but for now nothing was seen here in Holland.
