March 29 2004:
Quiet spring weather with more sunshine and rising temperatures each day. Highs will be above 15 degrees from tomorrow on.
March 25 2004:
Most of the showers have disappeared and the winds have dropped. It's still rather cold though with highs below 10 degrees and frost during the night. Maybe milder from next Sunday on?

March 22 2004:
An active weekend with a severe southwesterly gale, accompanied by very severe wind gusts up to 130 km/h on saturday and splendid polar airmass showers on sunday. Lots of these were electrically active and produced graupel and strong winds. I heard two rumbles of thunder around midnight, but could not see any discharges.
Today the unsettled weather continues.
March 19 2004:
Spring reached it's climax on Wednesday March 17, when temperatures rose to 22,2°C in Arcen. In combination with light winds and splendid sunshine it was a really nice day.
Yesterday, showers formed in the mild air and later during the day the southwesterly wind picked up. Today it's autumn all over with a strong gale near the shore and high wind gusts over land. Also, it keeps on raining much of the day. Not much change in this kind of weather for the weekend!
March 15 2004:
At last spring arrived! From last Saturday on temperatures climbed to above 10 degrees. Still a strong wind combined with cloudy and rainy spells though. Tomorrow untill Thursday could be real nice with highs above 15°C and more sunshine!
March 8 2004:
The last week was pretty cold with frost during most of the nights and highs well below normal for the time of year. Last saturday I experienced a quite active snow shower at my parents place in Drenthe. It kept on snowing for a few hours and that resulted in a temporary white world.
March 1 2004:
Added a new Photo of the Month.
February 2004 was quite mild with a mean temperature of 5 degrees, had a normal amount of sunshine and had more precipitation than on average. During the last days many locations received a couple of inches of snow and moderate frost during the night.
Winter 2003/2004 was mild as well with above normal precipitation and slightly more sunshine than on average.
