April 26 2004:
As weather is quite slow these days, I had some time browsing thru my old storm pictures. I rediscovered some nice storm photos I shot on July 30 2002. That day a couple of active stationary storms developed. I didn't chase them, but could observe their nice towers from a distance. I decided to add these pictures to my 2002 chase logs. It can be found here:

Charts are still looking good for the days ahead. Especially wednesday has a nice setup for thunderstorm development!

April 24 2004:
High pressure is building in our area and that results in calm and dry conditions with nice temperatures. The first days to come could see highs near or above 20 degrees with lots of sunshine.
From tuesday on the chance of showers and thunderstorms increases significantly. There is a good chance I will perform my first real storm chase this week, as I have two weeks off from monday on.

April 21 2004:
After a few warm days, weather became more unsettled last sunday and monday. Monday evening an active thunderstorm with soft hail passed Rotterdam and The Hague. Yesterday and today were rather mild and mostly dry again.
Tomorrow an active frontal wave could produce quite a lot of rain in The Netherlands, maybe even a thunderstorm or two. But first it can be warm with highs near 20°C.

April 14 2004:
Easter weather was slightly dissapointing with many Stratocumulus clouds and even a light rainshower on sunday. Eastermonday was much better with more sunshine.
From today on temperatures are rising as well and perhaps we will reach 20 degrees in the next few days ahead. Most likely weather will become unsettled again from next weekend on.

April 5 2004:
Weather turned unsettled and rather cold. Today, squally showers with local hail and thunder crossed the country and in the early evening a more active squall line moved over. I tried to chase a few showers in Flevoland, but without much success. The squall was rather interesting though!

April 1 2004:
Added a new Photo of the Month.
March 2004 was rather dry with near normal temperatures and slightly more sunshine. The last days were quite warm with highs near 20°C at some locations, for example Hoek van Holland had 20,7 degrees on March 31.
April starts of mild as well, but during next weekend temperatures will drop significantly with an increasing risk of showers or rain. Maybe some nice convection first?
